Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter

This ingredient is derived from the seeds of the seed of the Shea Tree. Shea butter is a hair conditioning and thickening agent. It helps to retain moisture and lessen the loss of water by forming a barrier on the hair's surface.

Shea butter is an amazing moisturizer and sealant.

 

 

 

 

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil

Coconut oil, or copra oil, is extracted from the kernel of coconuts that are harvested from the coconut palm. It is rich in lauric acid, has a resemblance to for hair protein, hence helping hair reduce protein loss; and easily penetrates the hair shaft due to its light weight molecular structure.

Coconut oil has benefits of giving hair a healthier shinier, non-greasy look.

Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil

Avocado oil is renowned for it's ability to penetrate the skin and hair more deeply that any other oil. It is packed with Vitamins A, B1, B2, D and E, which help rejuvenate hair from a damaged state back to its healthier moisturized self.

 

 

Marula Oil

Marula Oil is a lightweight oil that offers fast absorption, and leaves a satin finish on the hair.  Helps moisturize, hydrate, and repair your hair on the deepest levels

It also seals, coats, and smooths your hair cuticle (the outermost layer of your strands) for frizz-free, gorgeous-looking locks.

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil

This oil has a unique chemical composition, which contributes to it's healing properties. Castor Oil is packed with fatty acids, contains vitamin E, omega-6 fatty acids, minerals, and proteins, which are all important for the health of your hair and scalp

Castor Oil helps hair to grow as it minimizes hair loss. It makes hair richer and darker; prevents splits ends and moisturizes the scalp and hair.

 

 

Aqua

Hair thrives on a moisture rich environment and water is one of the best ways to quench moisture thirsty hair.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OTHER INGREDIENTS

GLYCERINE

We are aware that Glycerin can be sourced from dangerous synthesis sources, therefore we ensure that we source our glycerin ingredients from natural sources. Natural sources of glycerin include animal fats and plant oils like shea butter or coconut oil.

Glycerin is heavy in humectants, which are made to pull moisture into the hair and retain it. We use this ingredient in our products to assist in preventing hair from breaking during combing and keep the moisture int he hair.

CETEARYL ALCOHOL & CETYL ALCOHOL

"We have all heard the advice that it is best to avoid the use of products that contain alcohol, as it can be drying to the hair. This is especially true for those of us with curly hair, which has the tendency to need all the moisture it can get. However, we often get a little baffled; because we see ingredients including the word ‘alcohol’ in many of the products we buy, including those that are labeled as conditioning products. Our alcohol ingridients are from a group of fattu acids. This group includes Lauryl alcohol, Cetyl alcohol, Myristyl alcohol, Stearyl alcohol, Cetearyl alcohol and Behenyl alcohol.

These larger alcohols are typically derived from natural sources, and have 12 or more carbons per molecule (typically 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20). This higher amount of carbon content makes these molecules oilier (therefore referred to as ‘fatty’). For this reason, they are used as an emollient in our products.

STEARALKONIUM CHLORIDE

Stearalkonium Chloride is derived from stearic acid, a fatty acid found in plants such as shea butter. It is used in products to serve as an anti-static agent.
